If you're passionate about preserving California's rich history and heritage, we invite you to join Chispa Parlor No. 139 and the Native Sons of the Golden West.
Membership Eligibility
As of 2024, the Native Sons of the Golden West welcomes all U.S. citizens age 18 and older who reside in California, regardless of place of birth. This represents a historic change from the organization's 148-year tradition of accepting only California-born members.
What We Do
Members of Chispa Parlor No. 139 participate in:
- Historic Preservation: Support efforts to preserve California's historic sites and landmarks in Calaveras County and beyond
- Community Service: Engage in charitable activities that benefit our local community
- Educational Programs: Learn about and share California's Gold Rush history and pioneer heritage
- Fellowship: Connect with others who share a passion for California history and community service
- Monthly Meetings: Regular gatherings to conduct business, hear presentations, and socialize
